Tell us briefly about your modeling career and what has come out of it.
I began modeling seriously about a year ago and have recently created my own website and am beginning to make a name for myself in the industry. My career is taking off right now as I am getting booked more and more every week!
Tell us some of your greatest achievements in your career today.
Since I am still new to the industry I haven’t worked on too many big projects, although I am getting there. My two biggest personal accomplishments are getting published in a Bay Area Magazine called Pump in the November 2014 issue and working with Ruti.com on their brand new Ecommerce site!
What are some of the toughest challenges about your job and what are some things you do to overcome the challenges?
I feel some of the toughest challenges about modeling has to do with body image and competition. It is difficult sometimes to be confident in ourselves because of course we are our biggest critic and we don’t know how others view us; we can only see how we view ourselves. It is very reassuring receiving photos of myself that I really enjoy. I overcome my challenges by looking at the images I created and reassuring myself that I do have something clients want!
What are some characteristics you should have to be prepared in this industry?
You should have thick skin, motivation, ambition, drive, confidence, and a great smile.
What should aspiring female models be careful of? What are some things that can be unforeseen?
Aspiring female models should be careful who you are working with, especially if you are freelancing or just starting out. Always research photographers before you shoot with them. If they give you a funny feeling then you may have to turn them down! Always take someone with you to shoots and if you can’t always let someone know where you will be and who you are with. It’s OK to be extra cautious.
What hobbies are you into outside of modeling? What do you do on weekends and on your time off?
I really enjoy dancing and working out. I don’t have a lot of time off or during the weekends as I like to always stay busy. I am the type of person who will book myself full with no spare time in the week. I love to go, go, go, and try new things!
Any last statements for Rude Boy viewers?
Whatever you want to do in life, whatever makes you happy, do it. It may take a while for it to make you money or for it to get you where you want to be, but as long as it makes you happy that’s all that matters.
